This little motto has helped us apply the idea of patience. We have walked through each step many times and we now remind ourselves to "Stop and think Patience" and the rest of the process is internalised.

When I feel Annoyed

I need to stop and think patience

Recognise the difficult situation

Consider the priority

Decide to change myself

We have also made up a little family hand signal to remind each other, non-verbally, to change "myself". Simply, point your finger and rotate your wrist as if something was going round and round. We actually use both hands making these circular patterns as our hand signal for "change".
