E is for Excellent Blog Award
Thank you to both Robin at Heart of Wisdom and Phyllis at Proclaiming God’s Faithfulness for passing on this E is for Excellent Blog Award to my blog. Both of them would be on my blog Excellence Award list too. It is always encouraging to hear from people and how you have entered their lives through the doorways of the internet, especially the blogging world.
The "rules" say - "By accepting this Excellent Blog Award, you have to award it to 10 more people whose blogs you find Excellent Award worthy. You can give it to as many people as you want but please award at least 10. Thank you out there for having such great blogs and being such great friends! You deserve this! Feel free to award people who have already been awarded…"
When I started thinking about passing this award on, I thought for a couple of days. I don’t get a lot of time to read blogs these days and when I do I want to be encouraged, I want to be built up and changed. It is easy for blog-land to be like coffee-shop hopping, one chit chat after the other and come away just full of coffee! In my blog reading I want to be inspired to be better, to keep my focus on the main thing, to be challenged to pick up the slack.
So these are the top blogs that I visit when I have a moment to read – they are my favourite places to visit because they are excellent, in that they encourage me on to be excellent in my life.
As I have mentioned Robin at Heart of Wisdom Blog - though she awarded me this award I can’t help but list her on my awards list either. She writes as an “older woman” with a heart to share her experiences and insights and yet she is walking the walk as she goes. Her blog is full of variety and I’m hooked every time I visit.
And of course, Phyllis at Proclaiming God’s Faithfulness. In all that she writes you are left reflecting on God. This is a good way to start blog browsing.
Tamara at Training Hearts - what a full and diverse blog. She hosts a few “memes” which open the blog world whenever I take the time to take a peek, and yet she remains a consistent, honest and open and most importantly real blogger of her own self and family.
Jacque at Seeking Rest in the Ancient Paths This family a blessing to my family through their blog. Not only does Jacque maintain an encouraging blog herself but her children also blog excellently. Her children’s blogs bless my children and for that reason alone she has done excellently!
Janice at Taking Time for Things that Matter, has become a favourite read of mine, especially as my children grow older and we are homeschooling teens with unique passions, interests and direction in life.
Susan, at Kerugma, is always top of my blog-browsing list. She has children older than my children and I am forever looking for those who have walked before me. She walks humbly and yet with a willingness to share her life and insights that are both refreshing or challenging.
Kendra at Preschoolers and Peace has an excellent blog that is worth reading whether you have preschoolers or not. The principles she shares, given a tweak to make age appropriate are relevant for any age group. The encouragement she writes to mothers is relevant to any mother.
Nancy at Homeschooling is Life She also writes at On the Company Porch with regular posts of the same name. Nancy’s posts a good mix of get to know me and thinking posts.
Jen from Jeneric Jeneralities - what a laugh go visit Jen but you will probably end up laughing at yourself as you recognize the same thoughts, situations and reactions in Jen’s life as you find in your own.
Jen at Scraps and Snippets - I have just enjoyed getting to know Jen!
Jacci at The Educational Life always has something for me to think about and she does an excellent job of keeping the Charlotte Mason Blog Carnival rolling.
I hope that you will remember this list next time you have some browsing time, and that you will visit my friends, and be encouraged in your life as I am in mine.
Live life with your kids!
