Live life with your Kids - Issue 222
October 21, 2011
Hi there! ....

This week Jess and I came to Darwin (closest city) for a couple of days. Jess had a music exam (which though she feels she went well, she doesn’t know the results) and then a day of shopping together. We kept noticing how quick two people can do things – as opposed to doing it with the whole family of six!! We had a fun time together trying not to look like country hicks with mouths wide open at city stuff!! LOL – it is fun to laugh at yourself. We came home from the shops exhausted, had a swim and watched a girly movie over food that wasn’t good for us! We head home this morning.

Live life with your kids!

If you are an Australian reader I would appreciate you reading this special request.

Live life with your Kids

I’m reading a book called “Weird, because normal isn’t working” and one of the concepts the author is talking about is being in the present. Enjoying the task or moment at hand without filling my mind with all the other things that is in my life (the to-do list, the projects, the commitments). So though I have a little time early this morning – while Jess still sleeps – to write my newsletter, I’m not going to write a full newsletter. I’m going to just give you the links to my blog and you can pop over there and read what I’ve been thinking about this week:

I continue my 31 days of Heart Conversations. These are short thoughts on truths that I want to shape my children’s lives. I hope that as you read these brief posts, you will think about what you believe on that topic and share that with your children some time soon. This week I’ve written:

If you haven’t read these short thoughts before you can catch up with the whole series here.

And there will be more coming… you can receive the rest of the series by subscribing to my blog and receive daily updates in your email.

This weekend can I encourage you to lay aside all the things that are running around in your head and find some time to just be with your kids. Mobile phone off and computer shutdown, to-do list, rosters, schedules all tucked away somewhere and just focus on having a good time with your kids. Maybe you'll have to read my blog later!! LOL.

I have also written two regular posts:
